Actress and recording artist Christina DeRosa has long, straight hair in a Victory Rolls updo or updo, updo or up style. Her hair color is very dark brown with light brown highlights.
The hair is not parted. Instead, the hairline is exposed by drawing the hair up and back, away from the face.
The 1940s Victory Rolls hairstyle was something of a craze after the Second World War, and drew its name from the victory roll performed by fighter planes.
Lisa at Hairstyle Twist describes how her mother created her Victory Rolls do:
She would put pin curls in her wet hair at night and sleep on them to be styled in the morning. Sections of hair were wound around fingertips and secured to the head with bobby pins. This gave the hair body and curl. Then, the next morning, the strands were brushed up the sides and pinned at the top in rolls. Some rolls were more defined than others.
