From the broader, left side of the part, a wide section of slightly textured hair is drawn forward and down so that it crosses the forehead on an angle and tucks behind the ear. It crosses the rising hair line at the temple so the bangs seem to bend neatly at the edge of the forehead, tapering to a point in front of the ear and leaving the lower face exposed. The smaller section of hair, right of the part, runs down at a steep, slightly rounded angle. This section also crosses the rising hair line and tucks behind the ear, so that a continuous curve, part of an oval, runs round this side of the face from brow to jaw. Tousled layers of hair on both sides fall just short of the shoulders, widening past the lower face with its prominent jaw. On the right these side layers drop straight down from the part, covering the ear and framing the cheek without touching it. On the left these layers are drawn forward from further back, near the crown, so that their path remains mostly behind the left ear and well clear of the cheek. They reach away from the face, too, in an effort to shape it more roundly in the observer's eye.
