Jessica Simpson Updos

Jessica Simpson updo pictures.

The photo gallery above features the updo hair styles of Jessica Simpson, as spotted at birthday parties, award nights and even the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York ... a most unlikely venue to find Jessica Simpson.

Still, on this occasion she's spared no expense to come up with a stylist who can do something really interesting.

Swept back from the face, her hair is gathered at the back and bound quite beautifully with braids which are visible from the front, adding a happily rounding width above her ears.

You can see the effect of this braided Jessica Simpson updo in the second and fifth pictures of the middle row.

But the makeup artist must claim credit, too, because he or she has magically reworked the shape of Jessica Simpson's doctored eyes, giving them an oriental, almost Egyptian tilt. It's such a welcome change from her usual straight and staring gaze.

The second picture in the top row, and the first picture in the middle, show the singer celebrating her 24th birthday.

Jessica Simpson's updo is quite simple, fortunately, because anything more ornate would become embroiled in the titanic struggle to decide which elements of Jessica's jewellery - her silver hair accessories or her gaudy gilt earrings - will dominate the night.

An updo almost identical to this one, with more restrained decoration, begins the bottom row of the gallery.

Similar again, and almost identical to each other, are the updos shown in the third and fifth pictures of the top row. These photos capture a rare moment of Jessica Simpson understatement, where a simple headband provides the only hair accessory.

Her earrings, of course, are excused such subtlety.

Talking about Jessica Simpson updos is rarely as simple as discussing hair, because Jessica Simpson updos rarely come unaccompanied. This woman relentlessly festoons herself with anything that looks expensive.

The more glitzy the occasion, the more Jessica Simpson updos have to jostle for attention amid acres of bric-a-brac.

I imagine that Jessica Simpson's earlobes will gradually lengthen under the enormous loads suspended from them. With luck, girls will realise it's not a fashion trend but a medical problem, the inevitable result of a "more is better" approach to decoration.

Two Wavy Jessica Simpson Updos

The middle picture in the middle row finds Jessica Simpson once again piling her hair as high as it will go, but this sky scraping wavy updo is mercifully tempered with the knowledge that a long narrow face should not stand naked beneath a tall narrow hair style.

Blonde hair sweeps down across her forehead from beneath a scarf, covering one eye and much of Jessica's cheek on that side. On the other, a wispy pair of tresses curves round the face and in towards the chin.

The scarf itself helps reduce the soaring effect of Jessica Simpson's hair, drawing a line that separates the informed style below it from the blonde waves erupting above.

As Jessica Simpson updos go, it's not too bad. Certainly it outclasses the wavy updo in the bottom row's second photo - not because it's tidier or more formal, but because it deals more gracefully with the shape of Jessica Simpson's face.

The bottom row wavy Jessica Simpson updo leaves her eyes exposed as the relentless, dominant horizontal line they've become. While her hair does angle down across her forehead, it stops and turns just at the end of that horizontal eye line, drawing a vertical down her face that echoes the open cheek opposite and amplifies its long, straight descent.

This is one of those Jessica Simpson updos that achieve exactly what they shouldn't - a statement of Jessica Simpson's rectangular face.

Another inadvisable Jessica Simpson updo is pictured at the start of the top row. Seen here from the side, it's similar to the extruded golden bun style of the bottom row. Every harsh angle of Jessica Simpson's face is put on show, and the only question is: "Why?"

A Jessica Simpson Prom Updo?

Photo number four in the top row shows what could well be described as a Jessica Simpson prom updo, and a wavy one at that. Unusual among jessica Simpson hair styles, it's not only simple, but elegant and tasteful.

Miracles can happen.

Jessica even manages a natural smile. And her earrings - goodness! - her earrings defer to her hair style! They're small, simple, and they match her gown ...

But then she turns around.

See the fourth picture of the bottom row.

Exhausted by so much up front restraint and subtlety, Jessica Simpson bursts into vivid color at the back, reprising her role as the woman with the scary smile as she glances knowingly over her shoulder.

In the very last picture of the gallery, fur-clad, jewel-encrusted, flame-lipped and wearing a dowager updo, Jessica Simpson predicts her future as an aging socialite.

Jessica Simpson Updos and Virtual Hair Styles

Two pictures in the gallery stand out as examples of the bizarre effects this odd woman manages with her appearance.

Have a look at the third picture in the bottom row, and the fourth picture in the middle row.

Both photos show Jessica Simpson updos. The expression on her face is all but identical in both images, and the camera angle is nearly the same.

Quite by accident, these two pictures provide a virtual demonstration of online virtual hair styles - websites that help you find a look that works for you, by letting you try different hair cuts on a photo of yourself.

You eliminate hair cut disasters before you visit the salon.

I guess Jessica Simpson doesn't know about them yet.

If you've never experimented with hair styles online, have a look at this very popular virtual hair styles site.

But back to the two Jessica Simpson updos we were discussing.

The hair style in the bottom row picture seems calculated to give Jessica Simpson a long face, which she has anyway, and which common sense would suggest she disguise.

But common sense is not high on Jessica Simpson's list of beauty priorities, and in this updo she draws everything straight up. Not a single hair is left behind to counter the overwhelmingly vertical line of her features.

And just in case you still can't see how long her face really is, she ups the ante with a golden bun apparently extruded from the top of her head.

Now the second of this pair of Jessica Simpson updos is so different that a casual glance hardly reveals her as the same woman. You might almost think it's a picture of Julia Roberts, until you notice the stiff grin pasted onto a less generous mouth, and the oddly staring eyes.

What's so different about this Jessica Simpson updo is its profile.

The hair spreads outwards to widen and round off the top of her head. It stays low, adding nothing to the length of her face and actually reducing it by reaching down across the forehead and over one eye.

This Jessica Simpson updo brings her face shape closer to the classic oval of female beauty than most hair cuts she's worn since "doctors" started tinkering with her features.

Hair styles change the perceived shape of a woman's face. If proof were needed, look no further than this pair of Jessica Simpson updos.

Your own look changes dramatically with different hair styles, too. Visiting a virtual hair styles site might show you just the style you're after.

It will certainly help you avoid disasters like the Jessica Simpson extruded bun updo!
