Nicole Richie's Hair Style:

Socialite, celebrity and sometime actress Nicole Richie wears a peculiar hairstyle that's reasonably glamorous when seen from the back and side, but which from the front is just insipid.

Nicole's long, straight hair is divided into front and back sections, as many updos are. The front section is parted with a straight line down the middle. Matching bangs make a triangle of her forehead as they travel steeply, slightly curving, to the top of her cheeks. Thin, razored layers of hair droop beside her face in limp symmetry.

The back section is much more interesting, with a coil at the nape, a dome at the crown, and a long, thick braid wrapped loosely round like a headband, dividing the front from the rear. A smaller braid parallels the big one for part of its journey.

For added complexity, bleached strands poke out like catfish whiskers from the coil at the base of her neck.
